Released on Soul Kid Jazz, Secrets from a Lost Era captures an intimate duet session between alto saxophonist Joey "G-Clef" Cavaseno and bassist William Ash, recorded at Chambermansion Studios in Easton, Pennsylvania. Originally conceived as an impromptu evening of playing through familiar repertoire, the session evolved into a fully realized document of two seasoned musicians in conversation - exploring timeless standards with spontaneity, sensitivity, and deep musical connection. Stripped to it's essence - just alto saxophone and acoustic bass - the recording reflects a shared language shaped by years on the bandstand, offering a rare glimpse into the art of jazz in it's most honest form.
