[PRE-ORDER] Iona - Journey Into The Morn [LP]

Once again, IONA find inspiration from unlikely source material, this time a poem written in 8th century Ireland and modern Celtic writer Dave Adam's book 'Eye of the Eagle'. With guest appearances by the legendary Moya Brennan (Clannad) on vocals and Celtic harp, and again by Robert Fripp on Frippertronics, the result is the band's best-selling album. Now newly remastered for it's first-ever vinyl release. We hear of Celtic saint after Celtic saint leaving all behind to answer the call of God. Time and again they set off for a new wilderness. Their very way of living was a challenge to the so-called securities of our world. Yet, in heeding the call to go out, they found the treasure that had been hidden. Something that had been buried within or by the debris of the multitude of things around them was now set free. Quite suddenly their eyes were opened to the reality, and they knew they had found the 'Pearl of Great Price'."Nobody should miss this journey into the wonderful Morning of Mornings."Bottomline Magazine (Holland), December 1995"The album washes over you, encircling you in it's beauty, pulling you ever closer to it's core... "Silhobbit Magazine, December 1995"Undoubtedly Iona's most ambitious and visionary album... The effect is at times stunning, as huge ethereal soundscapes... rise up from the hi-fi speakers... a beautiful album."Cross Rhythms Magazine, October/November 1995"A remarkable, brilliantly conceived collection of songs... The ebb and flow of the recording shows a compositional integrity and scope hardly found in popular music."Shout! Magazine (USA), May 1996
