Coltrane's sound' is a concept album assembled by Atlantic Records from a treasure trove of unreleased recordings captured during Coltrane's 'My Favorite Things' studio sessions. Featuring his signature soprano sax, this album cultivates the quintessential "Coltrane Sound" in six succinct parts. This new 'Coltrane's Sound' (Mono) LP is a breakout from the forthcoming Rhino High-Fidelity box set entitled 'John Coltrane: 1960-1964'. All lacquers are AAA cut directly from the mono tapes by Kevin Gray and pressed on 180-gram vinyl by Optimal, with meticulous detailing on the album packaging that includes glossy covers and "tip-on" jackets.
