‘The new album from the acclaimed trumpeter is his second release for Nonesuch Records. The album follows up his recent GRAMMY nominated album (For Best Jazz Instrumental Album) Owl Song. It’s loosely a follow up to his critically acclaimed 2018 album Origami Harvest. The sprawling album album addresses what it is like to be a Black man in America. It features both a string quartet (Mivos Quartet) and a jazz quartet that includes Sam Harris (piano), Chiquita Magic (synthesizers) and Justin Brown (drums), accompanied by the poet/rapper/vocalist Kokayi.
